Our Planet, Our Responsibility: INIKA Organic X CleanHub
At INIKA Organic, our devotion to the Earth runs as deep as our commitment to pure beauty. As the world’s first plastic-neutral beauty brand, we are proud to lead with purpose. In 2025, we strengthened our partnership with CleanHub, a global leader in plastic recovery, to actively combat plastic pollution at its source. Together, we have removed over 23 tonnes of waste from some of the world’s most vulnerable coastal regions, and this is only the beginning. CleanHub protects our natural world by stopping plastic from reaching the ocean. By partnering with brands, they fund waste collection in coastal communities without formal infrastructure, connecting over 225,000 households to vital waste services. Their work not only preserves the environment, but also creates safe, fairly paid jobs. As the first plastic credit system verified by TÜV SÜD, CleanHub offers a transparent and credible path to real environmental impact. In 2026, INIKA Organic continues to redefine beauty with purpose, combining high-performance, luxurious formulas with a deep commitment to environmental restoration. Every purchase supports CleanHub’s work, helping to create jobs, uplift communities, and protect our oceans. How It Works: Our Three-Tiered Approach REDUCEWe have cut our use of virgin plastic by 84 percent, reducing waste from the very beginning. How INIKA Organic Works with CleanHub to Combat Plastic Waste
At INIKA Organic, sustainability is at the core of our mission. As the world’s first plastic-neutral beauty brand, we are pioneers in this area and dedicated to reducing plastic pollution to preserve our planet. Our partnership with CleanHub ensures that every kilogram of plastic we use is matched by an equal amount of waste collected and removed from the environment. Through CleanHub’s advanced track-and-trace technology, we can monitor every step of this process, ensuring transparency and accountability. The 5-Step Process of Plastic Waste Recovery 1. Collection The journey begins with collecting plastic waste from households, hotels, beaches and coastal areas where pollution is most severe. Using a QR code system, collection teams track each pickup, ensuring that all data is accurately recorded. They weigh the waste, take geo-tagged images, and register the data in CleanHub’s app to provide full transparency. 2. Sorting Once collected, the waste is transported to Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs), where it is sorted into recyclable and non-recyclable materials. Recyclable plastics are separated for processing, while non-recyclables are prepared for co-processing to be repurposed as fuel. 3. Transportation The sorted waste is loaded onto trucks and transported to the appropriate recycling or co-processing facilities. At each stage, the waste is weighed again, ensuring that no unauthorised materials have been added or removed. This double-checking mechanism guarantees data accuracy and accountability. 4. Processing and Verification At the processing facility, the waste undergoes further analysis with engineers evaluating moisture content, calorific value, and contamination levels. This ensures that only suitable materials enter the recycling or co-processing systems. If any anomalies are detected, corrective actions are taken to maintain integrity in the process. 5. Certification and Reporting Once the waste has been successfully processed, CleanHub issues a co-processing certificate, verifying that the materials have been responsibly managed. This documentation provides assurance that INIKA Organic’s contributions are making a tangible impact on plastic waste reduction. INIKA Organic’s Commitment to Sustainability Since 2022, we have already recovered over 20 tons of plastic from the environment. Through our partnership with CleanHub, we help fund waste collection in communities lacking proper waste management services, improving both environmental and social outcomes. By committing to plastic neutrality, we not only reduce our own footprint but also contribute to a cleaner and healthier planet.
Announcing our Partnership with CleanHub
INIKA Organic x CleanHub We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with CleanHub to take action on plastic pollution! At INIKA Organic, we’ve drastically reduced our plastic footprint by revamping our packaging to include 90% sustainable and reused materials like aluminum, sugarcane, post-consumer recycled plastic, and glass. This initiative has minimised our virgin plastic use by 84%. However, we’re not stopping there. Our partnership with CleanHub ensures that the plastic we do use is fully offset. We’ve committed to recovering and recycling 5,000kg of plastic waste in 2025 - meaning we’re effectively achieving 0% plastic waste. For every product sold, more plastic is collected, recycled and prevented from entering our oceans than we use. That’s the equivalent of 100,000 plastic bottles - a significant step in our journey toward a cleaner, more sustainable future. The Need for Sustainability in Beauty and Beyond
Plastic pollution is one of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time, with global plastic waste production reaching approximately 400 million tons annually. Without proper waste management, much of this plastic ends up in landfills, oceans and open environment. The effect is wide-reaching - harming wildlife, polluting ecosystems, and contributing to climate change to name just a few. Addressing this crisis requires immediate action, innovative solutions and a collective commitment to sustainability. One key solution is improving waste management, which encompasses the entire lifecycle of materials - from production and consumption to disposal and recycling. Many coastal communities, particularly in developing regions, lack the infrastructure to manage waste effectively, leading to severe environmental consequences. Organisations like CleanHub are tackling this issue by funding waste collection in these areas, preventing thousands of kilograms of plastic from entering the environment while creating safe, dignified jobs for local workers. Sustainable packaging is another crucial aspect of reducing environmental impact. Replacing virgin plastic with materials like aluminum, sugarcane, post-consumer recycled plastic and glass can drastically cut plastic pollution. By shifting to circular economy models; where materials are reused, recycled, and repurposed instead of discarded, brands and consumers alike can contribute to a cleaner planet. Beyond packaging, the beauty industry as a whole must embrace a future where product formulation and production are as eco-friendly as possible. Choosing 100% natural, synthetic-free ingredients not only benefits consumers but also reduces harmful chemical runoff into waterways and soil. When brands commit to sustainability at every level, they set a new standard for responsible production and consumption. The fight against plastic pollution and environmental degradation requires widespread participation. Consumers play a vital role by supporting brands that prioritise sustainability, properly disposing of waste and advocating for stronger environmental policies. Every choice, from purchasing decisions to recycling habits, has the potential to drive positive change. A cleaner future is within reach, but only if industries, organisations and individuals work together to protect our planet. By supporting sustainable initiatives, demanding better waste management, and reducing plastic use, we can move toward a world where beauty and environmental responsibility go hand in hand. INIKA Organic’s Commitment to Sustainability As the world’s first certified Plastic Neutral beauty brand, INIKA Organic is dedicated to making a real impact. Since 2022, we have recovered over 20 tonnes of plastic from the environment - equivalent to four adult African elephants. Through our partnership with CleanHub, we are committed to preventing over 5,000kg of plastic waste from polluting landfills and oceans each year, funding waste collection in coastal communities where proper disposal services are lacking. This initiative not only protects the planet but also provides safe, fair-paying jobs for local workers. In addition to tackling plastic pollution, INIKA Organic has drastically reduced its environmental footprint by revamping its packaging. Our products now use 90% sustainable and reused materials, including aluminum, sugarcane, post-consumer recycled plastic, and glass. This has cut our virgin plastic use by 84%, putting us at least five years ahead of major beauty brands in sustainability efforts. With every product we create, we prove that high-performance beauty and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand.
